It is a battery and it works. Simple to install.
Snap the battery into the holder and then screw it onto the back of the printer using a coin. Then charge up the battery. Don't freak out when you see the three green lights flashing -- that just means it is charging. They go off when charging is complete. The battery seems to hold a charge for a long time. People seem surprised to see the printer suddenly start printing when it is just sitting on the table with no wires. It is rather expensive in my opinion, but it does the job.

This is a great option to purchase. I is a little pricey, but well worth it. You can find it for less than $100. It is very nice on the road, just take it out of your bag and turn it on. It's even better if you have infared on your laptop, no wires at all. It has good battery life, I use it a few times a week in the field; I have charge it about once a month. It charges in less than 2 hours, with the original printer power pack. I would highly recemend it.

Why would you want to carry the AC adapter around with your new hi-tech printer?

The battery does have a lighted indicator to tell how much power is left.

Get the battery and leave the power brick at home.

Portable Power
This battery pack makes the iP90v truely portable. The charge lasts a long time, and it is convenient not to have to plug it in. It is a "must have" accessory to complete the printer package. I highly recommend it.
