nice, but limited selection
it is too expensive. but works well. easy on the eyes, and it is nice to get a paper no matter where you are. but the book selection is pretty thin. very mixed feelings.

One of the best purchases I've ever made!
I've had my Kindle about a month now, and wanted to put my '2 cents' in on how absolutely fantastic this product is!

I have always loved to read, but as I've gotten older, my already poor eyesight has continued to decline. Reading large print helped with seeing the text, but the books are so heavy (and expensive!) and my arthritic hands and arms tire very fast from holding the book.

I just haven't read as much as I used to. Kindle changed all that. It has enriched my daily life in so many ways:
1. given me back the simple enjoyment of escaping into the world of great fictional characters -- NO MORE ACHING HANDS OR ARMS AND TEXT I CAN CHANGE WITH A COUPLE CLICKS!!
2. learning something new about the history of some part of the world
3. getting daily encouragement from an inspirational book
4. finding a certain Bible verse easily
5. having the Denver Post at my fingertips daily (with no newsprint covered fingertips or paper cluttering up the kitchen table)
6. carrying a huge library in my purse -- no new bookcases required
7. having a dictionary at my fingertips while reading is totally awesome
8. reading samples of books before buying
9. buying and downloading a book in a matter of seconds

I could go on and on, but many others have listed the wonders of this device so much more eloquently than I can.

The only minor complaint I have with this awesome purchase is the difficulty of arranging the various books without the ability to create 'folders' of some sort. I am hoping Amazon will come up with a solution to this inconvenience with a software update in the near future.

As for the many comments about accidentally turning pages while reading, I just don't find that to be an issue at all. I use the M-Edge cover, folded back, while reading. Once I have the book open to start reading, I hold the device with one hand with my thumb resting at the bottom on the keyboard. While reading, the keys are locked, so it isn't difficult to grasp the device without accidentally hitting 'next page' or 'previous page.' I just don't understand the issue.

As for the price, yes, the Kindle is not an inexpensive purchase. That being said, it has truly been a life-changing purchase, and one that paid for itself the very first day as far as I'm concerned. I adore my Kindle!

WOW!!!!
I LOVE this product. I've only had it a few days and already I'm in love. I have found it very easy to "figure out", the learning curve is small. I usually have several books going at the same time and now I have them all with me all the time. I also don't like it when people see me with a book and then want to know what I'm reading, what it's about, bla bla bla. This thing is very private and discreat. I wasn't sure if I like the over all look of it at first but the coolness is in how it works and that makes it "sweet".

So Very Impressed
I have never been this impressed with a product. I love the fact that I can read for hours and my hands don't hurt. When my eyes get tired I can change the print size to rest them. I love it. I can't find anything wrong with it. If you read as much as I do ( 2 to 3 books a week) this product is for you. I have so many books in storage it makes my family shudder to think about it. I wish the Kindle had been invented years ago. I read many of the reviews and the problems that I read were no problem to me or easily solved. I would rate this a 10 star if there were 10...

Could Be Better
I really like this but 2 things make it a pain. The most important is Sprint or whisper net stinks. I have had it almost a month and had to drive 2 hours from home to download a book, have not been able to download since. Also no place to hold the Kindle comfortabably without hitting next or previous page. For the price should be able to connect to any wireless to download. Cathy from rural Michigan
