Product Description: It begins with a twittering of birdsong lifted from "Across the Universe." And once the triple-tracked a capella harmonies of "Because" enter, followed by snatches from "A Hard Day's Night" and "The End," leading into a fired-up "Get Back," it becomes obvious that this is far more than just another Beatles compilation. This is Love, conceived by the Fabs' former producer George Martin and son Giles as a stageshow soundtrack to Cirque de Soleil's Las Vegas spectacular of the same name, but appears to have taken on a life of its own. Whereas the Beatles' last release, 1, delivered the (over?) familiar hits in a nice, simple package, Love is a mélange of the familiar and obscure, all literally mixed together in one 78-minute audio collage which succeeds in reminding the listener just why the Beatles truly are, as Lennon put it, "toppermost of the poppermost." There's no new Beatles material per se, but the songs are all approached differently--some are cut together in a flawlessly mixed medley (check out "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!/I Want You/Helter Skelter"), some reassemble different backing tracks and vocal performances to create new spins on old classics; but all the songs are revitalized considerably. Even in its weakest moments (which probably work better in the context of the show itself), Love is still a formidable prospect, and one has to admire Martin's willingness to go out on a limb with such a project. While purists may complain that the cut 'n' paste nature of the project is simply tampering with perfection, at the very least it'll make them reach for the originals and enjoy them all over again. For newcomers and everyone else, it makes a fine listen, both in its sonic clarity (the actual tracks are the best they've sounded on CD) and audacious nature. --Thom Allott More from the Fab Four The Capitol Albums, Vol. 2 | Revolver | Sgt. With Our Love, We Could Save the World
I can't even begin to tell any Beatles fan how amazing this album, and show, is. After a long 3 years of waiting to turn 21, my man took me to Las Vegas to celebrate. I had only seen one other Cirque du Soleil show before, but was convinced I would like it just because it was set to the wonderful music of The Beatles. Was I ever right!! This show is so moving, mostly in part to the strict care given to the show's ever-important soundtrack, a collection of mostly re-produced Beatles songs (a few remain mostly untouched) produced by four gentleman, including George Martin, the original Beatles producer, and his son. Any Beatles fan will more than rejoice in this loving mix of the Beatles' best. Be sure to purchase this, especially if, like me, you have basically the entire Beatles catalogue. There will never be a truer celebration of the world's greatest rock band. I love you Beatles!

Beatles love cd
We went to Vegas to see this show, it was amazing. The way the music is put together is great(hey you can't complain with anything Paul and Ringo do.)
This CD was offered at the show for $30 and amazon was offering it for less than $10. What a savings!

Rediscovered and refreshing!
This CD should be listened to in its entirety, uninterrupted. It's a great way to enjoy these songs once agin, but in a new way. Listen closely, and you can pick up interesting new things every time!
Highly recommended.

interesting... is it necessay?
I am a Beatles fan. Always have been . But I wonder whether this was a necessary trip. Yes It takes several songs, meshes them together with other lyrics and sound that can be best enjoyed under a 60's drug haze. Parts were good and as a fan I welcome anything with the Beatles. But it seems to me that this collaboration seems only to serve the Cirque de Soleil. Good for a listen, but you might be more confused. Why mess with a winning formula?

Doesn't fit the title
Not what I thought it would be, and the recordings don't sound like the original hits.
