Product Description: Who knew Jonathan Rhys Meyers had such an aching, lovely croon? In August Rush, he supplies his own vocals in the role of an Irish indie-rock singer, and it's a testament to his skill that he doesn't embarrass himself on Van Morrison's "Moondance." (He's even better on Lucas Reynolds' "Something Inside.") This is fairly representative of this CD's flavor: thoughtful, adult but not bland--typically, you hear a lot of cello throughout. John Ondrasik, stepping out from his Five for Fighting persona, wrote new material, though the best song, "King of the Earth," is an unreleased one by his main project that boasts superb, elegant production by Bill Bottrell. Intriguingly, guitar virtuoso Kaki King is the hand double for Freddie Highmore, who plays the film's child prodigy. Her two instrumentals, "Bari Improv" and "Ritual Dance," are treats for lovers of inventive acoustic playing, who should also enjoy the self-explanatory "Dueling Guitars." John Legend sounds aching on "Someday," though the cover of "God Bless the Child," by Chris Botti and Paula Cole, feels a little lite. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

5 stars Soundtrack to film August Rush
The sound track to this movie is varied and of excellent quality. It provides the listener with the best part of the film, its music and themes. Watching the film again and again would be upsetting due to the street children being exploited by a criminal who collects their busking earnings. Seeing the film once at the cinema, then owning the sound track, is the best way to enjoy this musical production.

5 stars wonderful movie, even better music!
The movie August Rush was absolutely wonderful and the music is even better! This soundtrack is fantastic and the entire August Rhapsody is on there. I was worried that since it was so long it wouldn't all be on the cd, but it is! I highly recommend this soundtrack to anyone who is a fan of music!

5 stars Wonderful, Moving...
I knew once I saw the movie that this soundtrack was a must have for me. I loved it immediately. Honestly I haven't made it past August's Rhapsody, I keep starting the disc over. The songs not only bring a smile to my face, but they move me to tears.

4 stars bliss
Loved the film and love the CD. Great music and captures the essence of the film perfectly. The music is so varied though I think you had to have seen the film to appreciate all the genres involved.
