Flawless - Couldn't Learn to RESIST
I am a diehard Rush fan. I have seen them in concert most tours. The quality of their musicianship is rarely seen in any other band. I have to say I tried to RESIST buying this live CD. I have two copies of S&A and also a boot that was floating around. In the end, I just couldn't help myself. I wanted to hear the quality of the professional record and I wanted to hear the new stuff live as well as Entre Nous which has never been played live (up till now). I also really enjoyed the album art and the book enclosed. New photos are in there especially of interest to me of one with Ged and his Rickenbacker 4001 Bass. Could I have downloaded this off ITunes, yes but it is nice to have the disc to keep with all the others. I am not sorry for buying it. To anyone who has not ever seen Rush live, What are you waiting for? You get a huge set list of songs and top notch performance to be matched by none.

Rocks, of course
For a band that's known for its technical prowess and studio-perfect sound, it's ever been amazing how fantastic they are live. While this CD doesn't live up to the raw beauty of A Show of Hands or Exit Stage Left, it's certainly nicer to listen to than the Rio set, which was just too harsh. And the new S&A songs are just perfect - just what you'd expect from some of their best studio stuff since Counterparts.
The setlist departs a bit from the US setlist, and the 2nd CD doesn't come on quite so strong. But CD #1 is just amazing, and worth a few loops before you move on.
Get it. Enjoy it. There's only so much new Rush left, after 34 years.

Rush: Live Snakes
Being a long time Rush fan, I make it a point to see them every tour. Living in Arizona, Phoenix is a regular stop for them, so I'm fortunate.
They came here twice for Snakes & Arrows & both shows were what one can expect from a band with this caliber of professionalism.
The CD reflects this well.

Recorded in Holland, it is like many Rush shows: no issues, great song mix & plenty of play time.

Many fans will love the sound quality, the cheer of the crowd & most of all, reliving the experience of a show they themselves saw.
I highly recommend this disc to any Rush fan. Whether they saw the concert or not.

I have to disagree with the reviewers who feel a band can release too many live albums, especially in the case of a band like Rush. Rush puts allot off time and thought in their live production, including playing older music that has not been played for a long time. If you look at their touring history you will see that beyond four or five must have tracks, the set list for each Rush tour changes dramatically. In fact, there are very few bands out there that put forth more effort in a live show then Rush does.

I like this package, It is a great permanent representation of where Rush is at this point in their career. Just like R30 and Rush in Rio, Snakes And Arrows Live is taken from one show during that particular tour. This makes for a much nicer live album that represents the band much better then the live greatest hits packages mentioned by another reviewer.

Even if you own every Rush live recording available, this is worth having. The Snakes And Arrows material is awesome, and just like their previous two live recordings they pull out some gems from the past that are worth the price of admission alone.

Very few bands can do a Live album as well as Rush, I do not think anyone can do one better.

Yup, big fan. First tour was 30+ shows ago and Hemispheres tour. But this album is just OK. Saw them 3 times the first half of this tour and have tickets already to 2 shows for the second leg. This live CD is just basically them going through the motions. There's no drive or enthusiasm. Yes they are getting old and I'm grateful that they are still out there touring. However the production on this is rather hollow. Geddy's voice is not up to par, though better on the newer tracks. Got to admit that after singing Freewill for the six thousandth time he's probably tired of it. Which brings me to another point. Why not drop all the endless repeats of Tom Sawyer, Limelight, etc etc....and start giving the fans what they want at these shows. Stuff we never hear live. Camera Eye anyone? Might sell more tickets on these second half tours if they changed things up a bit.
