Product Description: After over 5 million albums sold in the US, Slipknot returns with their most powerful statement yet - All Hope Is Gone. Filled with the fury people have come to expect from Slipknot as well as some extraordinary surprises, this album is the culmination of the band' s 9 unique members, three platinum albums and their 10 year journey at the top of the Hard Rock genre. Kicked off by the powerful crescendo that is Execute and Gematria (The Killing Name) and ending with the blistering track All Hope Is Gone - the album is a cohesive statement about the world today and truly cements the band as one of Rock' s heavyweights. The lead single Psychosocial will propel the new album to match and exceed the success of the last album, Vol 3: Subliminal Verses which produced numerous Top 20 songs at Rock radio including a Top 5 track at Active and Modern Rock radio.

Customer Reviews
slipknot newbie
I've never listened to Slipknot before but after hearing Psychosocial on the radio I went out and bought the cd. I loved it! It's heavy, lyrics are good, bass is there...I haven't heard their previous stuff yet but I will definitely be exploring their older music now. If you're looking for a good head-banging album, this is it. I think the band is incredibly talented and the songs show their diversity. Lots of heavy bands don't really have true vocal capabilities so it was surprising to find out that Slipknot does. I would recommend this album - can't criticize their other stuff 'cause I haven't heard it yet so if anyone else out there is new to the band like me go for it.

a dose of every album, with a new album sound
First off, I think this album is great. Ive been a fan since they started in '99. there is at least one song on this cd that sounds like each other album. Including, Wherein Lies Continue sounding like the first album, Gematria sounding like Iowa, and a few songs sounding like Vol III. however, there are a few songs that sound very similar to Stone Sour. Now, they are great too, but i thought the concept was to keep the two seperate. And here, they didnt. Even though Gehenna fell into this catagory, it remains a experimental and breakthrough song for Slipknot. They have captured the "Sing-A-Long Bash your head against the nearest wall, rock chorus...." If you do purchase, upgrade to the special edition. The extra 5 or 7 bucks is so worth it. The booklet is bigger, the 3 songs make the money worth it alone, and the dvd is fun to watch for the 35 minutes it lasts. Very similar to "Inside the Nine" DVD. All in all, worth my twenty bucks, and hasnt left my cd player since i got it the first day. I scream my lungs out to every line.

All Hope is Gone is definitely not the case!
Being a huge Corey Taylor fan, my opinion is semi bias. One thing that I can promise you is, this album (All Hope is Gone) is nothing like their self titled album, Iowa, or Vol 3 The Subliminal Verses. Creating their fourth album with different perspective, different recording style, and brand new lyrics... has turned into a matured Slipknot masterpiece.
These nine guys have different personalities, different recording tactics and styles. Each single member of Slipknot brings different artistic ideas to the table and to this record. One thing for sure, these guys know how to rock and can pull off any type of project that is given to them!
All Hope is Gone is by far their best album yet! Slipknot shows you that they are a band who will never break up and better yet.... give us Maggots security that there is indeed more to Slipknot that we have not yet seen!
All Hope is Gone not only gives us hope for future projects by Slipknot, but All Hope is Gone is a remarkable and refreshing album!

Slipknot is more than just noise !
This cd kicks butt, much better than the previous cd version 3.0, I perfer their heavy stuff over the slow songs on this cd, as of all the other cds too.
I can't wait to see them perform some of these songs live.
