Avg Customer Rating:
Product Description: New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult is widely acclaimed for her keen insights into the hearts and minds of real people. Now she tells the emotionally riveting story of a family torn apart by conflicting needs and a passionate love that triumphs over human weakness. Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate -- a life and a role that she has never challenged...until now. Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister -- and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable, a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves. My Sister's Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child's life, even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less? Should you follow your own heart, or let others lead you? Once again, in My Sister's Keeper, Jodi Picoult tackles a controversial real-life subject with grace, wisdom, and sensitivity.

Customer Reviews
Completely upsetting
I was all set to give this novel 4 stars up until the very end. The writing as amazing and you could almost sympathize with all the characters. Then the author oes something completely insane as an ending and ruins the whole story. I was extremely annoyed and generally upset by lack of disregard for readers.

Emotional Journey
My Sister's Keeper: A Novel
Can a Parent love too much? Or is too much never enough?
MY SISTER'S KEEPER is a story that struck a cord with me. As the sister of someone who suffered from a life threatening illness I saw first hand the struggles that parents go through to protect their child. Is this a controversial story? Some could see it as such. But for me it was a powerful, though heartbreaking story of real life. These things happen, and as a parent I could not fault Anna's parents for making the decisions that they made. Did it mean they loved her any less? Absolutely not. If I were in the same situation would I have a baby just to save another child? I don't know. But what I do know is that I would do everything in my power to save my child. Who could fault anyone for that?
Jodi Picoult writes a heartbreaking, emotional page turning story that I would recommend to anyone. Will it cause people to talk? Sure. Will some people disagree with the decisions made within the story? Absolutely. But I'll be surprised if you guess the ending!
I give this book 5 *****stars.

loved the book, hated the ending
i loved this book. i tred jodi picoult's book very carefully becasue afetr reading the pact, i think they are all sad. offcourse i knew this one was going to be sad when i started reading it. but either way it stil takes you by surprise when it gets there.
you get to know the characters in a way that makes you feel for all of them and what they're going through. you cant hep but agree and hate agreeing all at once.
i don regret reading it at all. this book was amazing and Anna's voice is so strong you hear it even after the book is finished.
Jesse is easy to love even though he is the troublemaker, his actions are valid and natural.
i loved it and i would recommend everyone to read and ask yourself, what would you do?
at first i thought i knew and that the answer was simple and in black and white. the truth is there's so much gray that it over clouds everything.
my 4 stars was due to the ending. not anything else.

All I can say is wow
Wow best book I have ever read. The characters are interesting the plot is compelling ad the plot has a nasty turn at the end. I would rate this billions of stars if i could. Im 15 and this book made me BAWL. I loved it it has scientific and medical aspects, lovey dovey aspects, and touches upon things like the fragile mother daughter relationship and the big choice a daughter must make. READ IT!

Review for the audio version
I listened to this on the road and it made the time fly, while giving me plenty to think about! The audio version is perfect for this book - since chapters are each written from a different characters perspective - and they use different voices for each one. This made them just come to life!
I've rated this higher than some - because I enjoyed the surprises Piccoult built into the story. While the ending does come a bit out of the blue --- it left me thinking even more about the theme of the book.
