Avg Customer Rating:
Product Description: The Leapfrog LF-30S from Terk Technologies is a wireless transmitter/receiver system that eliminates the need--and the expense--of running extra wires from room to room in order to enjoy your audio/video entertainment from multiple in-home locations. Using the system's IR blaster, you can even control your first-room components from your second-room locations. It's as good as having two or more of everything. By transmitting across the 2.4 GHz frequency band, the LF-30S gives you the clearest possible signal with a range of up to a 150 feet. The Leapfrog's signals penetrate walls, doors, ceilings, and floors with no interference. Multiple channel selection lets you select the best possible signal from four different channels. The LF-30S is easy to install, requiring no tools for setup. A built-in modulator ensures easy connections with any TV, either new or old. The LF-30S system is expandable, too: with the purchase of additional receivers, you can use it with multiple TVs or other components throughout your home. What's in the Box Transmitter, receiver, IR remote control transmitter, remote control receiver, 2 AC power adapters, and a user's manual.

Customer Reviews
Great A/V but remote didn't work.
Audio and video work amazingly well. No noticeable problems. It's crystal clear. No noise, no snow. Perfect. This is even when I'm directly between the transmitter and receiver's line of path. And I had on a large, motorized fan right next to it. No snow, solid picture.
But I have the Scientific Atlanta 8300HD DVR with Time Warner Cable, and the remote control almost never works through the Terk LF-30S. It might work for a few button presses of the remote control, and then it stops working for 30 more button presses. And I've not found any way to improve that. Very annoying.
So that disappointed me about this device. But I was able to find a decent remote control extender that did work with my remote control, however, so the combination of both works well.
The remote control extender I bought is called the "Next Generation Remote Control Extender", and it's made by Next Generation. You can also find it for sale on Amazon.com for 30 to 40 dollars. It worked well with my 8300HD DVR's remote control.
I received this as a birthday present so that I could watch my DVR's recorded shows in my home gym while working out. The DVR is in the adjacent room, behind a thick stone wall where the chimney is. Total distance is probably only 20 feet from transmitter to receiver.
The Terk is not hi-def, by the way. The 8300HD DVR that I have outputs standard definition, and that's what I use with the Terk.
I considered giving it 3 stars instead of 4, since it didn't work with my remote. But I think it deserves 4 stars since the A/V quality is the most important thing, and it does well at that. You can always buy a better remote control extender like I did.

Works great until I use my wireless mouse or wireless keyboard.
When we first installed the Leapfrog, in the back room, we didn't have the PC turned on, and the TV received great sound and picture from the front room via the Leapfrog. Soon after, ON went the PC, causing some TV static and picture problems. The KILLER was when either the wireless mouse, or wireless keyboard was touched. The static and picture distortion made it impossible to watch TV, via the Leapfrog. So...... for that TV, we'll just stay with watching local channels via our HD Indoor Antenna. We're keeping the Leapfrog because, it's kinda nice to have the option to watch Direct TV where ever we want, anyplace inside or outside of our home.

Great technology, inventive product
I've used a "wired" Terk product of the same kind for many years to watch Tivo which is attached to one TV in a completely different room. It's a lot cheaper than buying two Tivos and the technology works great for standard TV (Not HD). This new product is being used with satellite to avoid an extra receiver lease. The wireless product works great, but you need to make sure you don't have a wireless network or phone on the same frequency (2.4 GHZ). This is the standard wireless network frequency. Also, you should keep the devices a little bit away from the actual TVs as they can cause interference as well.

an amazing wireless video distribution
I had heard about the posibility of have a video signal wirelessly, I decided to buy this leapfrog LF to see if this was possible. I bought ita and send the video from the livingroom where there is a cable output to my kitchen the the result were amazing, I had a very good picture on my tv

Turk Tv signal transmitter
This product works as well as I expected. It transmits video with as clear a picture as analog cable TV. To me, there is nothing wrong with that.
I knew that microwaves and other devices on the same frequency would interrupt the signal. I guess I hadn't thought thoroughly about how frequently that would happen, living in a town home where other households are in such close proximity.
When other neighbors are just beyond the wall, the program you are watching can be interrupted unexpectedly. When that happens there is no picture, no sound.
We have enjoyed using it at times. At other times we have been very annoyed with the interruptions.
It does what it claims to do. It is what it is.
