Avg Customer Rating:
Product Description: The Plantronics lightweight headset is designed to free your hands while you drive or work with a wireless phone. Though the unit's noise-canceling microphone makes it especially suitable for calls placed over a cell phone, it's also appropriate for use with traditional office phones. Recipients of our phone calls reported no annoying disturbances or distortions during conversation, and audio quality on our end was clear as well, if a bit muffled. The headset works best on phones that feature good volume controls, because the microphone adjust switch raises and lowers the volume in a very narrow range. The M175 also has the nifty feature of converting from a headband to an over-the-ear-style headset. Unfortunately, this also makes for a somewhat flimsy construction. Pieces immediately began falling off the unit as soon as we removed it from its packaging, though snapping the components back in place took little effort. Overall, the Plantronics M175 headset is a versatile, quality headset for those looking for a hands-free way to work with their mobile or cordless phones. --John Frederick Moore Pros: - Lightweight design
- Good sound quality
Cons: - Headset microphone has narrow volume range

Customer Reviews
Works fine but breaks quickly
This headset works fine - the sound quality is not great, but it's not bad either - just a bit muffled - except that mine died within 1.5 years. Given the price and the reputation of the brand, I expected it to work a lot longer.

Does what it should
Works exactly as advertised. Great for conf calls at home to keep hands free. Mute button works great. Use it on my home cordless phone and my blackberry with no problems.

Broke before 6 months
It broke before 6 months of light use, however Plantronics replaced it for just the cost of First-Class postage to return the broken unit after receiving the prompt replacement. Just Google "plantronics quick web service form" (without the quotes) and fill out the form.

Good product at a great price
I ofter work from home at least twice a week, and a big part of my schedule is participating in conference calls, so a good headset was important for me. My first headset from Ativa did not pan out as I had too many people complaining that they could not hear me very well. I then bought this headset, largely based on my prior experience with other Plantronics products, and reviews I read on amazon for this product
My experience so far has been very positive. The sound is clear and crisp on my end, and my co-workers have confirmed that they can hear me just fine. The days I work from home the headset gets a lot of use, and sometimes as much as 3 hours at a single stretch. The headset is comfortable, and the mute and volume controls are accessible and easy to use. Whats more, the price cannot be beat.

Best Bluetooth headset so far...
I have been through 4 different bluetooth headsets so far, and this one is far and away the best. The first was too bulky. The second (Jawbone) couldn't be carried easily when not in use, and got repeatedly crunched in my pocket until it wasn't functional. The third was a motorola flip version, and didn't stay on my ear well. This one fixes all those problems. The carrying case is truly inspired. It works great, and protects the earpiece when not in use. Best of all, you can charge it while it is secure in the carrying case. It fits well, even if you can't easily see the physics of how it will work from the images. Sound quality is great, but wind noise is still a problem. Always has been with headsets, so maybe next model. Overall, a great headset.
