great music by great artists
I bought this as a gift for my husband, but have loved listening to it myself!

Classics faithfully recorded by favorite voices
I listen to this album in my car all the time. I bought it for track #4, "How's the World Treating You" with James Taylor and Allison Krauss. But listening to these wonderful old songs reminds me how clever, harmonious and REAL country music used to be. There are plenty of famous people singing the Louvin Brothers' songs - Emmylou Harris, Vince Gill, Merl Haggard, Linda Ronstadt, Del McCoury, Dolly Parton - but the quality of the songs transcends the years gone by or the singers performing them. There are just no songs better than "New Partner's Waltz" or "Are you teasing me?"...and the harmony will have you singing along too.

Old Songs, New Voices
I liked all the songs on this CD. Some standouts are: You're Running Wild, I Don't Believe You've Met My Baby, When I Stop Dreaming, and If I Could Only Win Your Love.

Not a bad cd
As tribute albums go, this one is pretty good. But...did you ever hear a Beatles tribute that was anywhere close to being as good as the Beatles? Same goes here. These are decent performances, but frankly I think they lack the alchemy that made the Louvins' vocal performances so amazing. I was happy to see a tribute to the Louvins because they sure did earn it. But why get this cd when you can get the real thing? And there are so many more good songs done by Charlie and Ira than are captured on this cd, that it would be a shame to stop here. Go get some of their own cds, no way you're gonna regret it.

A real sleeper
I discovered this cd by chance and what a find! The vocals (all duets), instrumentation and arrangements are pure and exceptional. In addition to outstanding performances by the recognizable stars I also heard a very talented Carl Jackson for the first time. Especially enjoyable are Emmy Lou Harris/Rodney Crowell, James Taylor/Alison Krause but every cut is great listening. Whether or not you've heard the Louvins' original recordings any true country music fan will appreciate these excellent performances of their timeless songs. A must addition to any traditional country music collection.
