Product Description: Chris Ballew's quirky Presidents didn't exactly rise from the vaunted Seattle scene of the early '90s and step gleefully outside its often constraining alt-rock clichés to forge an unlikely stardom on their own, often goofy terms. Here, they not only continue the refinement of their humorous ethos begun on 2000's reformation album, Freaked Out and Small, (and continued on 2004's Love Everybody,) but expands it outward with the help of new guitarist Andrew McKeag (replacing co-founder Dave Dederer) and veteran Seattle producer Kurt Bloch. If the effervescent opener "Mixed up S.O.B.," and lyrically precious tracks like "Ladybug" and "More Bad Times" can seem beholden to the band's earlier freewheeling fancies, there's a sharper, more satisfying musical/lyrical focus on the Francophobic sarcasm of "French Girl" and irresistible, stream-of-consciousness country psych of "Truckstop Butterfly." The languorous "Loose Balloon" and feverishly swinging, horn-punctuated "Flame is Love" show just how far the Presidents' second coming has pushed their previous, punk rock-dominated envelope, before the slinky, closing funk workout "Deleter" (featuring sassy turns by r&b singer Fysah Thomas) busts it wide open. --Jerry McCulley

4 stars Presidents Rock!
These are the good times people. It's also a good time to listen to this CD. I'm a huge fan of PUSA. This CD has the classic Presidents sound as well as, a few tracks with something a little different than the norm. And, they are not disapointing. I enjoy CDs released by the Presidents because you can listen to them all the way through without skipping tracks. The pattern continues with this one. Bottom line I highly recommend picking up this CD.

5 stars PUSA Rocks, always have, always will . . .
Awsome album, another great to add to the PUSA collection . . . worth the money.

4 stars Hey, Dave Dederer: Missin' You!
This entire album is upbeat and listenable, but it is noticably missing the input of Dave Dederer on Guitbass!

I read an interview once where Dave Dederer stated that while Chris wrote most of the "cutesy" songs, his own contribution was adding the heavier rock/punk influence to the music. That rock and roll edge is what is missing from this album. Which makes it, not bad, but also not rockin'!

The standout songs are definitely:

-"Mixed Up S.O.B.": Which is another wild song about a crazy girl, in line with "Lump" and "Lunatic to Love".
-"Ghosts Are Everywhere": A catchy tune with lots of "Na-Na-Na's" like "Tiki God" from II.
-"Riot In The Sun": Which is the closest thing to edgy, with it's distorted shouts of the title at the beginning.
-"Deleter": Which is a very good experiment, using horns and a female vocalist with some great attitude.

Again, the album is enjoyable, but not one I want to listen to all the way through like "Love Everybody" or "II". Dave, come back to us!

5 stars Awesome!
These Are the Good Times People Is an awesome album! These guys have still got it and are still fun! 'Pore Turtle' has been stuck in my head for days and tracks like "Messed up SOB", "Flame is Love", "Rot in the Sun" and "Deleter", this album is a great listen all the way through!
Musically this is a little growth for POUSA, with some horns in several songs and a guest singer, this is a little change, but it works out very well with their fun, rock style!

If you like POUSA, buy this album, support this band and help them keep making such great music! If you've never heard this band, give them a listen now!

5 stars High Octane album by PUSA
A satisfying album by PUSA. PUSA fans love it including me. Nothing changed drastically. New elements from their previous albums were also used in this album (piano, conga...). The music approach is similar
Love Everybody'.

Opening first track is 'Mixed-up SOB'. I thought I don't like their first single UNTIL I turn up my speakers. Hey folks, it's rock music gotta turn it up and feel the earth shakes. My next favorite track is 'French Girl'. It's such a funny song. All their songs are catchy and sing-along ready. Check out 'Deleter', there's a nice guest female vocal on this track. What a sensational song!!!

I don't know how many of you think of this. For each album they released, it's a reward for the well-established fan. For my point of view, they're really just wanting to deliver their unique music to their loyal fans more than fame, money, etc like any other bands. A fan like me enjoy it this way!
