Product Description: Escape, the 12th studio recording from pianist Jim Brickman, comes from a new label (SLG Records instead of Windham Hill) but follows a familiar formula, mixing instrumentals (nine of them) with radio-oriented vocal selections (three) in an effort to snare the largest possible audience and keep all camps in his fan base happy. The result is an easy-to-digest, easy-to-like disc that, in general, should make fans of Brickman's piano-only works content. While not as deeply evocative as his earliest releases, Escape features some lovely instrumentals ("Waterfall," "Awakening," "Big Sky," "First Light," and "Timeless") that will remind longtime fans of what attracted them to Brickman in the first place. And two of the vocal tracks--"Never Alone," sung by country artist Sara Evans, and the cheery "When It Snows," handled by under-the-radar vocalist Geoff Byrd--are as engaging as any pop selections Brickman has previously recorded. The generic title track, a bit of samba-lite with guitarist Marc Antoine, falls flat, and a few tracks would be better off without the swelling cymbal crashes. Overall, though, Escape is exactly that--pleasant, uncomplicated, escapist listening. --Terry Wood

5 stars Escape
Very good CD. I heard the awakening song track when the astronauts were awakened to it and really liked it, so had to go on the hunt to find it and lo and behold it was [...] Love this site and love this CD.

5 stars Escape by Jim Brickman
This is my first Jim Brickman CD and I love it. He wrote a lot of the songs on it - pretty talented guy!

5 stars Never fails to entertain
I was introduced to Jim Brickman by a friend and PBS years ago. This
past fall, I had the extreme pleasure of seeing him in person in
Wilmington, DE. I had to have this CD and thanks to a friend who gave
me an Amazon.com gift certificate, now I do! It's my gentle wake up in
the am and my drift off to sleep or just relax in the evening. Jim
Brickman is a gifted entertainer and musician.

3 stars A Muddled Brickman
I have to admit I am a Brickman fan.I like simple piano music with the occasional sax or chello. What I don't like are muddled vocals and bad production. Brickman should have stayed with the clean crip production of Windam Hill. Sara Evans..yeah ..like she can really sing. Her vocals should be left at the bottom of the well where it sounds like this song was recorded. Brickman piano..Great but dull on this CD.It sounds like he had to come up with something and knocked out the first take on every song. Very dissapointing. Stick with "My Romance " and save your money on this one.

5 stars ROMANTIC AND LUSH
A great CD for piano lovers! Jim Brickman is suberb!!! I just rediscovered piano music for the heart. Another great album is Music From My Heart: Solo Piano Pieces by Margie Balter you could say she is a female Jim Brickman! She is a piano teacher to the stars (she coached Holly Hunter and Tom Cruise!) But her solo piano debut delivers even more than one might expect from her credentials. It would be great to see these two artists collaborate...!
