Great value, Not to be missed
As in previous issues of Mozart and Bach, this one is a winner. A sampling of a number of different works (symphonies, string quartets, concedrtos, piano sonatas...)reveal first rate performances in all cases I have sampled. The recording is also great. So, really no downside to this set at the price offered.

I use this as an opportunity to listen to lesser known works, and to compare the great ones with other recordings I have. I suppose I should not be surprised to find that there are Beethoven works out there that I do not care for at all (Examples: Various folk and national songs). But the time honored great works are there as well as all the other.

A Beethoven lover should not miss this chance.

I have the complete sets for Mozart and Bach too. Overall they pick pretty good versions of each piece, but at this price, you can use it as reference to fill out with specific artist, later. This is compact in packaging and a great gift for people in apartments or students who are learning about the essential classical music created in our world. They did a good job and you will benefit from having this collection.

This helped me get a complete understanding of all of Ludwig's work. Great place to start and listen over your lifetime. Enjoy.

Complete, compact (less than a foot long and half a foot wide), with outstanding performers including the Gewandhaus Orchestra of Leipzig with Kurt Masur in command.

When they say complete, here, they mean it; there is some material in here I'm sure very few have even heard of.

Very high quality set - a great buy!
I have not found one disc that is of poor quality. Sometimes with box sets that are compilations from various artists, the volume level and purity of the sound can be inconsistent. I have not found that problem to be present with this set. Obviously,one disc may be better than another, but not to the degree that I find it irritating. I find that listening to this set is just a delight.

I am extremely pleased with this purchase, and recommend it without reservation.
