Great album!
As much as I liked Bright Like Neon Love with its disco inspired tunes, In Ghost Colors still has the same Cut/Copy feel with a more alternative approach. Great album. Definitely recommend it.

My favorite Cut Copy cd - so far
Another batch of of tasty songs, spacey synthesizer work, and, a bit more guitar edge as compared to their first album. CC follows their own vision and avoids formulaic pop tunes. Take for example, Strangers in the Wind, a slightly melancholy synth trip that takes off, winds and climbs and 4:40 later sets you down in a different place. The best albums always take a few listens to study and appreciate and for me this is one of those albums.

Ear pleasing and Body Movin'
I'll try not to repeat what the previous reviewer's have already stated with all the New Order and 80's/New Wave comparisons and similarities. Although it should be pointed out that some of "In Ghost Colours" sounds a little more like later-day New Order (their last few albums). For your other 80's/New Wave reference; the great song "Nobody Lost, Nobody Found" will remind you of a more sped-up "Orchestra Maneuvers in the Dark" song - which is a cool thing.

Great vocals by the lead singer with catchy choruses and samples filled throughout the songs makes this a must-have album. As mentioned before, the album mixes their artist(s) and genre influences mixed up with some modern day electro-clash, thus a great album before going out, getting ready, or at the party / club itself. The two singles "Lights and Music" and "Hearts on Fire" are catchy as heck and deserve praise. The start of the album song "Feel the Love" and the song "Out There On the Ice" are just as strong and catchy. (warning! (from the song "Out There on the Ice": be prepared to have the lyrics "Yes, no, maybe....is all I need to hear from you..." be stuck in your head). On the little bit of the rockin' tip, the song "Unforgettable Season" is really good. It has some guitars in the forefront and the song really shows off the lead singer's voice - echo and all. Rest of the album is pretty solid and worth the listen. In the Top 10 albums of '08 so far.

An important fact to mention about this album is that there are actually only 11 `songs' on this album. The other 4 tracks on the album are segues / fillers leading into the following, actual song.

Hommage done right
I bought this CD pretty much like I buy every CD I get: I listen briefly to the first three tracks and if I like it I take it with me.

Once I got home I put In Ghost Colours in my player and gave it a listen while I was cooking.

You know a CD is good when you stop what you're doing to really pay attention to the awesomeness that's coming out of the speakers. I listened to it a few more times and there's only one thing I must say: Listen to it. It's like finding a 20$ in your coat you had forgotten about or finding you still know how to skate. It sounds familiar yet brand new.

It totally made my day, so give it a listen too. Chances are you'll love it.

Must-have for fans of 80s synth-pop
I am too young to have lived during the golden age of 80s pop, but I still adore the brilliant music that came out during the era. These guys are unabashed in their love of this music. Unlike other bands like Chromeo, who sort of make fun of the music as they play, Cut Copy is trying to sound like exactly like a vintage album that came out in 1987 or some other glorious year. Their singer sounds like Billy Idol, and the electro elements bring Daft Punk's style to mind. If you don't like the 80s, run away, but I highly recommend it to you poor souls nonetheless.
