Product Description: The smooth-jazz acoustic-guitar star gets his R&B groove on throughout many tracks on this beautifully recorded disc, and not just on the obvious tunes like the sneaky Isley Brothers cover, "Who's That Lady" (with Kirk Whalum cooking on sax), and the old Temptations number, "Just My Imagination," but also on the very funky "Turn It Out," with sax man Euge Groove, and the Latin-tinged "Bueno Funk," with Steve Cole on the horn. The rest of the album is about as dependable and complete an album White has put together since the promise he showed with Basia in the mid-'80s, which is to say smooth-jazz radio and fans are sure to be all over his thoughtful melodies and tasteful arrangements. Other guest stars include trumpeter Rick Braun, the ubiquitous keyboardist Jeff Lorber, and saxophonist Dave Koz, who warms the title ballad. More tracks sure to please fans of the very popular guitarist include "Pedro Blanco," and "Baby Steps." --Mark Ruffin

5 stars AMAZING,... just like he's live
I just recently saw Peter White in concert and he is amazing on his acoustic guitar,... he plays it like an electric and really gets into it. This CD is one of his best and I just had to have it: Bueno Funk is the star of the show, but his ode to the Isley Brother's Who's that Lady gets a standing ovation. He is wonderfully artistic and innovative with his choice of phrasing and move of his music,... definitely smooth jazz. Even the Isley's would be proud. The rest of the CD is enjoyable and you can just put this one in and let it play,... really wonderful to relax to.

5 stars Takes Me Away
This CD is very enjoyable to listen. Very relaxing, yet uplifting. It's like a escape from it all, allows you to have a clear focus once more.

4 stars Glow
Not knowing what to expect, I picked up this CD because it was very low in price, and because it seemed to have a lot of high ratings. I also wanted to explore more of this "smooth Jazz" feel, which I was for the most part, kind of unfamiliar with. At first listen I would say that it reminds me somewhat of what people would call "Island Music", I don't know why I think of tropical islands when I hear it, and many think of that label as something more attached to Jimmy Buffet. The acoustical sounds are crisp and steady, and that alone makes it enjoyable to me. Whether the backdrop of quick, escelating tones are to ones liking or not, it definitely gives it a different feel, and whether I feel it puts me on an island or others call it "elevator music", it is very soothing and relaxing to listen to. Particular tracks I enjoy are "Chasing the Dawn", which really has great acoustic guitar appeal to it. The song "Bullseye" has a funk/groove to it that doesn't tire me, and like many songs has a beautiful if mellow saxophone by Steve Cole in it.

I am not an expert on smooth jazz, I'm still getting my feet wet with Cool Jazz, but if you are interested in beautiful music that is mellow and features some great musicians, I don't think this Peter White CD is a bad one to check out.

5 stars Classical Master
Perhaps his best combination of smooth jazz with strong classical undertones, this album is a joy. It's heart wrenching throughout, underscoring some of it's composer's personal struggles during it's creation. The ability of this guitar great to translate that through your CD player or musical medium of your choice is magical! Beautiful melodies, soulful, and extrarodinarily creative. A tad off center from traditional White CD's, yet not one bit less worthy. One of my favorites!

5 stars Peter White is the Best Smooth Jazz Artist
Peter White is my favorite of all smooth jazz artists. And "Glow" is my favorite cd in my collection of over 1000 works. I always carry an extra unopened copy of "Glow" to give as an unexpected present when someone seems in need of a pleasant surprise.
