Get the entire collection of Unwrapped by HBR
If you are a mature adult who likes new music, jazz, hip hop & R&B then this is the collection for you.
I entertain alot and there hasn't been an audience that has NOT loved this collection. A friend introduced me to Unwrapped Vol. 1 & 2 and I immediately ordered the rest and everything else this label puts out including Jill Scott, Mike Phillips, Brenda Russell & Jeff Bradshaw to name a few.
This is today's music for the today's adult.

Volumes 1 and 2 Hot!!! Volumes 3 and 4 Not as Hot...
Volumes 1 and 2 are must haves. You will play those for the long run. Volumes 3 and 4 have a lot of tracks for which you can just hit the ff/skip/next button. I wonder what #5 will be. What was hot about 1 and 2 is that they were far away from and better than what gets played on the radio. It now seems that hidden beach is headed to that corner of the jazz segment called mainstream. I worry that #5 will be more hip hop and less jazz and more for my son than for me. After all, if I were the VP of marketing, that's what I would do. I bought #1 and #2 and just about every song was a hit. Buy this CD and you'll have to skip around a lot to find the hits. Check Napster or Walmart and pay 99cents for each of the 4 songs on here you'll play over and over again. Be cautious about going all out and buying this whole CD.

Does It For Me...
Hidden Beach does it for me any day.
I'm a lover of R&B and smooth urban jazz so this is a no-brainer for me.
I know some folks feel that smooth urban jazz renditions of establish R&B and hip-hop tracks is a "no-no", however, at the same time it's a creative spin on something already solid.
The ability to take something that's already established and change it's format while still keeping it's appeal is also something that "separates the boys from the men" so as to speak. Not all smooth jazz musicians pull this off. On this CD a lot of them do.
So I guess if you already love your R&B/Hip-Hop tracks anyway, and you're into smooth urban jazz, then you can't go wrong.
PS: Any track I might not have liked would have been one I didn't like in it's original (R&B/Hip-Hop) format anyway!

Great CD!
Once again, Hidden Beach Records has put together another excellent collection music. This fusion of hip hop and jazz is a great way to be introduced to this particular genre of music. I recommend Unwrapped 4 to all jazz lovers, new and old.
