Product Description: At the time of its release, internet rumor had it that Collaborations was a "taster" project--that is, a sampler to whet listeners' appetites for Scott's long-awaited third solo album, due in summer of 2007. But Collaborations doesn't play like something you'd listen to once before throwing your napkin (or, more accurately, your earbuds) down. Not only does it genre-jump with the kind of precision you don't normally find in an artist pinned to a certain musical movement (in Scott's case, neo-soul), it throws the weight of its bold names around without straining or slacking under the pressure. The hit here is "Daydreamin'," a fuzz-encrusted slice of alternative hip-hop off Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor, but there's so many other full-bodied contenders for mass adoration it could easily be eclipsed as the favorite. They include the soul-soaked "Said Enough," with the unmistakable Isley Brothers; the noirish thumper "8 Minutes to Sunrise," with Common (who also gets "Funky for You" together with Bilal); and "Slide," maybe the sexiest jazz-and-R&B hybrid ever to heat up a mainstream diva's disc. On that track, credit goes to Jeff Bradshaw for brilliance with his brass. But consider it: how many other singers could pull off sultriness alongside a trombone? Beautiful voice but repetitious
I love Jill Scott. She has one of the best voices around. This cd starts off promising but then bogs down quickly. It's not her but her choice of material/collaborators. After the third song where the hip hip/rapper guy takes the lead and she is left to support with breezy, breathy vocals, I wanted to scream. She is the talent here and she needs to be the focal point.

Love it
Simply love this cd. The entire cd just speaks to me. Jill Scott is very tallented but she just out did herself on this one. Her many, many talents are showcased on this cd. This cd will never grow old.

Worth more than a quick listen
Don't underrate this CD. I firmly shy away from collaboration albums because it seems as though artists are just getting their thrill of working with someone without selecting songs where the voices meld or either on the band wagon of trying to just sell based on names. Jill's voice is excellent and for me the showcase is Sometimes I Wonder with Darius Rucker. She is a soul artist and doesn't try to find the 'pop' market. Much appreciated.

I LOVE HER MUSIC.... THERE IS NO SONG THAT HAS NO DEEP MEANING.. SHE SINGS FROM THE HEART!!!!!!!!!!! CANT WAIT TO GO SEE HER IN CONCERT!!! I BLAST HER MUSIC ON MY WAY TO WORK!!!!!!! NO COFFEE NEEDED AFTER THAT!!!

Jill Scott Collaborations
This is a great purchase! Excellent from beginning to end and there are some real treats in there. Jill Scott is fantastic as a solo artist, and puts her personal stamp on all her work. All the collaborations that you were searching for on one album, so no need to keep searching.
Would have been brill if there was a DVD to go with this CD.
