Great tracks
Although I love the songs, I cringe at the transitioning. I expected the mixing to be more professional. Overlooking that aspect, Farina's selections are wonderful. I still love the CD enough to give it a good rating.

Just Listen
This CD is simply the product of all good music combined. Hip-Hop beats, Jazz, Vocals, Blues, you name it. The title "mushroom jazz" is just perfect to describe the kind of music. It's jazzy and trippy. In my opinion, people who are into hardcore rap wouldn't like it. This is not a rap album. It is the beats that sound like hip-hop but with instruments and vocals layered on top of it. If you just want to chill out or want to create a lounge atmosphere, then this is the CD to play. This album is just the beginning of the series of whole new sounds!

smooth and sexy beats
If you've never heard of Mark Farina, please wait no further and get this CD! Mushroom Jazz is an interesting mix of hip-hop, jazz, and funky beats. The CD is incredibly smooth and you'll find yourself tapping your foot throughout the entire album. The mixing is seemless and I like how he blends previous or future tracks into a song that is currently being played. The track might be In Hale, but it'll incorporate some beats/vocals from J-Live. Mushroom Jazz is quiet a remarkable and rare CD. I love it!

"Practise make perfect"
I do not know what the story is with this guy DJ MARK FARINA guy but his choice of tracks for this compilation MUSHROOM JAZZ is superb but the mixing suck on this first volume in the series. If you go for any of the following editions you still get the excellent tracks and the mixing have improved considerably. A typical case of "Practise make perfect"!
5 Stars for the selection of tracks and 1 for the mixing only give a total of 3.
ALL of the later editions are 5 star masterpieces...

Not outstanding
I ran out and got this album after hearing a DJ friend sample track 2 off of it. The album turned out to be homogenous and unimpressive in my opinion. The tracks meld together in an awkward manner and the production is poor enough that I noticed, and I don't know a lot about production.
