Customer Reviews
***** for the album, * for Amazon
I'll have to agree with "D.Kushner".. This is NOT the issue stated on the Amazon site. For me, the same thing happened, but the replacement, which again was the old issue, came FROM Amazon. So there's that, and the "reissue of the jazz/funk drummer's 1976 album" in the description.. As anyone who is trying to get the mythical 2008 release would know, Stanley Clarke is not a drummer. Five stars for the album, one star for Amazon.

Not the 2008 Digipak 24-bit Remaster
Just a warning for anyone trying to obtain the mythical 2008 release "24-bit remastered reissue of the jazz/funk drummer's 1976 album, packaged in a digipak", that this is NOT it. I ordered and RMA'd this title twice from Amazon. I suspect that they got the UPC wrong in the listing. Tried to order it a 3rd time from one of the resellers and again got the original '90s release on Epic.

Classic fusion
What can I add to this list of glowing reviews? everything has been said, and I cannot agree more. This is a great jazz-rock album, perhaps erasing the lines between fusion and jazz-rock, if there ever were any? Anyway, great playing, especially keyboard/guitar. Amazing drumming also. Bass, great of course, although I am am not a fan of bass as solo instrument. Nevertheless, if you like fusion as much as I do, chops aside, this album is a very charming specimen of the genre. Someone said of fusion that it is a sunny street where funk, classical, jazz and rock live happily together. They appear to be most happy on School Days. Giddit!

classic funk..
one of my first jazz albums from way back in the 70's. I still have the LP, albeit slightly scratched but give it a listen. Some hot grooves in this funky, jazz fusion sound.

NICE MIXTURE OF SOUNDS
THIS CD HAS A NICE BLEND OF FUNK, JAZZ, ROCK, AND CLASSICAL MUSIC THAT CAN SPEAK TO ANYONE. THE BEST STANLEY CLARKE ALBUM WAS "JOPURNEY TO LOVE" (WITH SOME INCREDIBLE BGUITAR PLAYING BY JEFF BECK ON IT), BUT THIS ONE COMES IN SECOND,EXCEPT OF COURSE FOR ANY OF THE OLD STANLEY CLARKE/GEORGE DUKE PROJECT STUFF, WHICH IS ALSO GREAT. SCHOOL DAYS DISPLAYS STANLY'S RANGE OF TALENT IN DIFFERENT GENRES OF MUSIC.
