5 stars IF YOU LIKED THE ORIGINAL ALBUM...
I'm no jazz fan per se... I just liked that original "Soul Sauce". They called it "Guachi Guaro" ...to me it sounded like "What chu wadda". When my girl friend expressed an interest in having this, it was not a difficult decision to go for this digital version. I highly recommend that you under 60 people, who have no clue about Cal Tjader and latin jazz, listen to a clip of "Soul Sauce" and what ever other title on this album strikes your fancy.

4 stars smooth wood
Cal Tjader went to the next level in his craft with this album, which probably influenced many great bands (look for the Herbaliser in "take London"). Wonderfully executed, with a smooth clean latin vibe, Cal isn't afraid to step off the tracks and go beyond clich?s of Latin music. very good

5 stars Soul Sauce - Cal Tjader Review
This Album was one of Cal Tjader's best, the sound quality on CD improved a great deal from what I remember, all the tracks are "EXCELLENT"!!

5 stars my favorite things
I like to play this album in the summer. It's fun to listen to outside while you're BBQing or running around the yard in your bathing suit.

5 stars If You Aren't Familiar With Cal Tjader...
...this is a really good start. How a white guy from Chicago became the king of Latin jazz in his day is a whole other story, but talent had something to do with it ;) My favorite on this CD is Tanya, the title track and Ming have been mentioned in other reviews; several of the tracks are a little slower and cooler (Leyte, Somewhere in the Night, Spring Is Here, for example). All in all a good roundup of Tjader's styles.
