5 stars Staggering for the time, holds up well today
Switched-On Bach II (along with The Well-Tempered Synthesizer) really shows what the analogue Moog gear could do in the hands of people who knew what they were doing. The performances hold up and the arrangements make the most of the material. This is Bach, after all, so that's a pretty tall order. Wendy and Rachel's experience on the earlier albums shows.

After nearly 40 years Switched-On Bach sounds, frankly, clunky in places (though it was revolutionary at the time). SOB-II still sounds fresh.

4 stars Still Switched-On
Some of the tempi are very much slower than modern taste prefers but this matters little. The Carlos sound is still gorgeous after all these years.

5 stars Spectacular work!
I had this one when I was a child, the sound is really enhanced, the work is the same. A masterpiece!

5 stars Bach No. 2
Wendy Carlos has achieved a 'double wammy' whith this second CD of Bach compositions set to the complex but enjoyable moog synthesiser.
I personally like this CD slightly better than the original 'Switched on Bach". Now that's saying something because the original CD is excellent.
Like the first CD, the compositions flow along very nicely. Could it be that Wendy Carlos reached moog genius status by the time she got around to 'Switched on Bach 2" ? As there is no narrative to this 'album', one may have to dig a little deeper to find out. Never the less, this collection of Bach compositions is a faithfully represented and artistic stroke of brilliance. I love it and I recommend it to serious music fans. It does not disappoint.

1 stars Tech issus
I bought this album because I enjoyed the LP version I bought back in the 70's. The music is still very good but this CD version would not play in our DVD player / burner. Instead of playing in the newer technologies, it gave us access to some not so good art and photography by W. Carlos. It was necessary to copy the music from the cd to my PC and then burn a fresh CD to get it to play.
