Product Description: In the most dignified way possible, "Dignity"--the title track to this fizz-bomb of a dance-pop disc--sends a disgusted eye-roll and a flagrant puh-lease to underwear-eschewing celebutantes everywhere: "You'd show up to the opening of an envelope," sings Duff, who hangs onto her signature sweetness despite having entered full-on diss mode. "It's not news when you've got a new bag/It's not news when you're looking your best/Come on, give it a rest." Well said. And sung. Not that calling out the phony and the full of it is what Duff, or Dignity, is all about. Mostly, the disc is a beat-studded chronicling of an incredibly healthy 19-year-old psyche: On "Happy," she's happy despite an ex's attempts to make her miserable; on "With Love"--maybe her catchiest, most grown-up song to date--she's willing to accept rejection as long as kindness plays a role in its delivery. Musically, with the help of groove-conscious producers like Tim & Bob and Will.i.am, Duff edges ever closer to adult sensibilities; her goofball Lizzie McGuire days seem far behind. It's an evolution anybody could have seen coming, actually. Has there ever been a starlet with her head on straighter? --Tammy La Gorce

1 stars More of the sad american fate
I used to be a huge Hilary Duff (still am sort of) I watched lizzie Mcgwire (i forgot how to spell it ; . ;) everyday and have her part two albums. But when i saw the music video for 'with love' This non-mainstream-music-non-prep girl couldn't watch it all. It was to much dance preppy cherrleader ness to it. Not my thing. There are two options Hilary can take now, either bounce back with an album with songs like 'come clean' (metamorphosis) and 'Fly' (Hilary Duff) or she can retire and stick to acting

1 stars Wow...this album is the worst I've heard so far
I'm very open to all sorts of music, but this has been the worse sounding album that I have heard thus far. This is not music, this is noise...I don't know how anyone can stand to listen to such noise. This album sounds awful, and I would never let my kids listen to this junk.

1 stars where's the rock hilary?
I loved her last two albums very much! Then when I listened to THIS, I didn't like it! It's like R&B pop. It's hard to explain but you have to listen before you buy it. I did not like it at all. I am a fan of hers and I like her a lot. I hope in her next album she goes back to that rock like her last one! Now that one is my favorite! (her self titled cd)

4 stars Duff does dance pop
Hilary Duff, like her Disney predecessor Britney Spears, needs to grow up. So in an attempt to show the world how much she's grown up musically, this former TV actress and teen pop star delivers an enjoyable, albeit stilted dance pop album in the form of Dignity. There are some great songs here, most notably the Mideast-flavored opener (and single No. 2) "Stranger," lead single "With Love" and "Happy." Still, that's not to say that there aren't cheesy moments--"Never Stop" has a catchy enough riff, but it's still a bit, well, childish. Duff has never been that great of a vocalist, and her voice is still as girlish as ever, which makes it hard at times to believe that she is indeed as grown up as she makes out to be. However, with songs this good that really doesn't matter. There is a multitude of single-worthy dance pop material here and, like her or not, Hilary has stayed true to herself which, arguably, is quite dignified.

4 stars Hilary no longer a Kid artist
Hilary is a great singer i have liked her songs since Why not and well this CD changes things is no longer about kid fun or things that is meant for kids some of her fans have growned up and so has she this is a good CD one of her best out there.
