5 stars outstanding pop hits from 1968
Billboard Top Pop Hits: 1968 is an inexpensive CD with great sounds of 1968 on it to entertain you over and over again. The sound quality is excellent; these songs sound just as fresh as the first day you ever heard them! Newcomers to this genre of music would do well to choose this CD.

Mason Williams kicks things off with "Classical Gas;" this features some wonderful guitar playing and the orchestration can't be beat! The strings, percussion and more enhance the beauty of this melody. I predict that you will enjoy "Classical Gas" very much. The Rascals also turn in a performance of their huge hit entitled "A Beautiful Morning;" they sing this to perfection and the backup vocalists never miss a beat as they harmonize so well. I love that percussion, too!

Bobby Goldsboro's "Honey" is a sweet tune that is sure to bring back memories; Bobby sings this with such passion and style that it really moves me every time I heard it. Bobby makes "Honey" a true masterpiece in his capable hands.

The Union Gap performs "Young Girl" with all their might, heart and soul. The arrangement works wonders and "Young Girl" is a very fine ballad that is timeless the more I think about it. The musical arrangement enhances the beauty of "Young Girl," too.

"Spooky" by The Classics IV is a tune you just may recognize when you hear it; and Jeannie C. Riley makes a big splash with her hit "Harper Valley P.T.A." "Harper Valley P.T.A." works well on many levels and Jeannie C. Riley delivers this with panache like the pro she always was! You go, Jeannie!

Moreover, listen for Dion to do his famous "Abraham, Martin And John;" this touching ballad still resonates with listeners today in our times. Deep Purple ends the CD masterfully with their tune named "Hush;" this tune really rocks and it's anything but a hushed performance! The electric guitars sound great on "Hush" and Deep Purple sings this very well.

Overall, this is one great CD to celebrate the pop music of 1968. I highly recommend this CD.

5 stars UNIVERSAL Sounds
Universal , because the first time I heard these songs ; I had no idea what the words meant . I arrived to this U.S.of A during mid 1968, and these songs were being played all over . I was only 15, and fell in Love with this country instantly because of this music .Then, I had no idea what they were singing about . Today , I understand the words and I am still in Love . All memories attached to this Music bring back precious moments to my heart and mind. Gracias

4 stars BILLBOARD 1968
I bought this CD because I had been looking for "Love Is Blue" for years, and this was my last option. The song is a masterpiece, as beautiful a song as any from the sixties. Other highlights include "Classical Gas", another pop masterpiece, and "Abraham, Martin, and John", yet another classes. But, those stand out over such pedestrian hits as "Young Girl" and "A Beautiful Morning", which today sound hopelessly dated. If you want the two best intrumentals of the 60's, buy this CD.

5 stars Terrific Collection
The original version of Paul Mauriat's "Love Is Blue" was impossible to find. I was so happy to come across this CD which includes it!!! The sound is great too on all the songs.
