Product Description: Recorded on May 2, 1970 at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena during The Doors final tour with Jim Morrison as lead vocalist, LIVE IN PITTSBURGH captures a spectacular concert performance from the legendary quartet. A single-disc tour de force, the album features over an hour of incendiary energy from Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore, and guitarist Robby Krieger as they take the audience on an epic musical journey. The powerful recording was expertyly mixed and mastered by the Doors longtime engineer/producer Bruce Botnick, who recorded several shows from the band s now-historic 70 tour on multitrack tape for the Absolutely Live album. Along with classic Doors hits and choice covers, highlights include Morrison s improvisational riffing during an exciting 22-plus minute version of When The Music s Over, leading the band into bits of songs they d never played live.

Customer Reviews
History in the making.
I enjoyed listening to history in the making. Very good concert. The only thing negative about the CD was that at the end of the recording it sounds like a defect. I don't know if the "clicking" is suppose to be there. The first time I heard it, it was annoying. Now, I'm getting use to it. All in all, listening to this concert made me feel like I was in the audience.

Essential Doors
After slurring the blues on the three-disc "Live in Boston," Jim Morrison comes alive for this remarkable Doors concert. Recorded on May 2, 1970, "Live in Pittsburgh" may be the group's finest live album to date -- even better than the Detroit and Philadelphia releases. For 79 minutes, the Doors deliver the goods with excellent versions of "Back Door Man," "Roadhouse Blues," "Mystery Train" and "Light My Fire." The 22-minute "When the Music's Over" is simply astonishing. Throw in a rare performance of "Someday Soon" and you have a definite keeper.

Awesome Album
If your a fan of Jim Morrison and the Doors, then this album is MUST OWN. Even tho this was recorded in 1970, it felt like I was there in the crowd, great moment in history. RIP Jim

Almost like being there!
Great that these live concerts are being made available. Hope there are more coming. Not for everyone; a "must have" for the dedicated Doors fan. Price was fair, as was shipping and handling. A+.

Great album to own for new fans
I would recommend this to a new fan of The Doors if you haven't heard them live. Jim is in top form here. He sings with such passion and care. The band is incredibly tight here too. If you are just discovering The Doors i recommend getting the new Perception (small box) set. This set is afforable for most, if not for you then get each album sold seprate. Each album has its gems to me. There are only two songs i don't like in the entire Doors catalog of songs. Put on a good pair of headphones sit back relax with a joint or beer and enjoy The Doors live in Pittsburgh.
