Customer Reviews
Great for modern day.
I was looking for a 2-line cordless for about 3 weeks. Everything at CC and BB was way overpriced and all of them included an answering system. In today's modern times an answering system is out of date. Besides, I did not want an answering system on my business line (line2 in our home) so that our kids could not accidently turn it on and create a mild disaster.
Once I received the Uniden unit setup was a breeze and the features all seem very well thought out.
My only disappointment was my inability to use the handsets at my neighbor's home directly across the street, about 75 feet away.

Would be a great phone if sound was better
Like other reviewers, I bought this phone because it had the features I wanted (speakerphone, voice mail indicator, 2 lines, and NO answering machine - I like voice mail). Everything about it is great - it's easy to set up and use - but the range and sound quality are not great. I could live with the range, but I get an intermittent echo, especially on line 2. I thought maybe it was a problem with my line but the phone co. came out and tested and it's fine. He heard the echo too (on both lines, but worse on line 2), but when he plugged his phone into the same jack it sounded fine. I have ordered a Panasonic phone and if it sounds better I will be returning this one.

Best cordless phone we have owned
After going through a new cordless phone almost every year, we bought this about 18 months ago and have never had a better phone. I had all the right features, we needed 2 lines, and no answering machines. We use voicemail and all other top of the line systems had answering machines which seemed like a waste. Anyway this has exception battery life, I work from home and sometime am on the phone 3-4 hrs straight. A fully charged handset lasts a long long time. The range is very good, we can go to the end of the block and get reception. If I had to complain about one thing it would be that the intercom doesn't have a "barge" feature, we used to have a motorola and you could make announcements on it, like telling someone to pick up the phone, if the call was for them, on this one you can ring the other handset and they have to be answered.

Good phone, but be careful
Overall I'm pleased with this phone, but three minor issues.
1) The first phone base I received didn't work worth a damn. Tons of static and a range of around 10ft. So I took it back and demanded a exchance. The second one worked like a champ. The only problem seemed to be the emitter in the base unit.
2) In our situation we have two lines both with their own vmail accounts. There is no way to tell which mail account has the vmail from the phone base. So essentially if you have a voicemail(s), you need to either listen for the tone skip on both lines or call each one since you may have a vmail on L1, L2, or both. This is rather silly, but compared to the other phones in the market, it is worth the tradeoffs.
3) The vmail indicator seems to have a rather long delay before reseting. Seems like a simple thing, but has some hiccups.

half the stars for a phone that only half-way works
I was in need of a two-line, combination cordless/speakerphone, that could be dialed from the base station, but which did not have a built-in answering system. Because the number of phones that fits this description was unexpectedly small, I purchased the TRU9466 for my office. This, to me, seemed to be a perfectly reasonable expected use for the device. But, while line 1 has worked perfectly well for the first month, line 2 has a severe echo. Upon calling Uniden's technical support I was told that the phone base needed to be placed at least 10 to 15 feet from any computer or electronic device in order to work properly. I cannot imaging myself having the unique need and desire to be able to work on a computer and to talk on a phone simultaneously. Yet it seems that Uniden expects purchasers of its devices to forgo any other modern amenity in lieu of having the benefit of an non-echoing cordless phone. I wonder if the ever-so-helpful technical support person was using a ring-binder instead of a computer to help solve this issue.
Don't buy this phone if you also have a computer by which it might be placed. And moreso, do not expect any valuable knowledge or assistance to come from Uniden's abysmal technical support.
I give this phone two stars only because line 1 seems to work ok, it does have decent speakerphone, and the battery life for the handset is reasonable.
