1 stars Good idea bad design
The Neverlate is a nice idea badly executed. To give you an idea of what I mean here is what happened when I first tried to use it. When I plugged it in around midnight, the clock showed 12:00 noon so the first thing I had to do is set the clock. This is done by rotating a ring around the control button for setting the weekday. To change the time you put your fingers on the ring and rotate it, taking care not to rotate the weekday setting that is inside the ring. The most I can rotate the ring on a single turn of my wrist is about 5 minutes. So I started rotating - the ring does not rotate easily and clicks for each minute of rotation. The noise it makes is enough to wake up someone asleep in the same room. To change the time by 12 hrs it would take 12 of my wrist rotations for each hour, or 144 twists of the wrist in all. By the time I had done a couple of hours worth my wrist was sore. But that's not all. While rotating the ring you have to make sure not to accidentally move the day indicator which is a raised button in the middle of the ring. I brushed against the weekday button a few times with my fingers as I worked away at rotating the time ring. Each time you move the time ring while the weekday button is set at some place other than off, you activate that day at whatever time you happen to have moved it to (that's a default "feature" of the clock). The result is that you set the alarm and so it ends up going off at random times through the week. The design of the time setting mechanism for both time and alarm is one of the worst designs I have ever seen for this purpose. If it were easier to set time, say by allowing you to set hours independently of minutes this would make a bit more sense, although the twisting of a ring close to the day setting is a bad idea.

After my first random alarm went off I took the Neverlate back to the store where I bought it - I'd rather be late that have repetitive stress pain in my wrist and to be awoken at random times.

4 stars Almost perfect...
There are just two things wrong with this product: the display is very small and very bright. If you are nearsighted, the .5 inch tall numbers are difficult to see during those groggy middle of the night time checks. Also, if you are used to a VERY dark room (I mean you are so light sensitive that you find the blue and green number displays on most clocks too bright so you've resorted to the red), this clock is going to annoy you. The numbers are dark against the lighted window, and 2.75 inches by .75 inches of glowing green inches from your head will disturb the most light-sensitive sleepers out there. Other than that, the thing is perfect -- easy to set and use, and the radio is surprisingly good. I liked the retro-industrial knobs and dials, but I guess I'm going to have to get that LASIK surgery after all....

4 stars Smart Clock
As other reviewers have mentioned, this seems to be the only clock of its kind out there. It is the most sensible clock I have ever owned. I have it set for an earlier time twice a week on the days that I run, and for a later time on weekend days. I didn't hear a pop when the radio came on, so it's so slight I don't even notice it. The shortcomings are slight but I will mention them. To set the alarms you use the big knob on the top, and it makes a fairly loud cranking noise which can be kind of annoying to your sleeping spouse. The other thing is that the little display that tells you if the alarm is on or not is very tiny - it would be nice if it was bigger. Overall though this is a great alarm clock and I recommend it for anyone who doesn't get up at the same time every day.

5 stars Neverlate.. Never Ever!!
Oh my goodness!!!!! If you are on a set weekly schedule (such as college??) this clock is the most amazing thing I have ever seen!! I came from using an iHome alarm clock to wake me up; this alarm has got to be 10x better! According to other reviews, the clock's LCD is too bright? Not really, and it's actually just enough light to see where things are on the floor when you get up at 4 am. The knobs are a bit tiny, but the compact size is great!! Most clocks are short and long, but this one is more square and fits nicely on a table with other items like a lamp. Overall, this clock is great!!

4 stars A Good Clock Radio
My husband and I lucked out on a sale of these and each got one. The ability to program for a different time for each day is invaluable. Once you understand how the timeset function works, it's a breeze to adjust.

Another reviewer commented that it didn't have much of a radio, but I didn't buy this gadget for its sound. I have a stereo if I want to hear good music! All I want is for the radio to wake me up rather than a discordant "beeeeeeep." And that it does! I also don't mind manual tuning; I like the ability to be able to tune in stations with a knob. Digital tuning means you are stuck listening to whatever tuning the radio deems correct.
