Customer Reviews
Good, after repair.
I had to call HP support after multiple blue screen crashes leading finally to being unable to open Windows. Tech support tracked down the problem to a faulty memory chip. They are sending a replacement. This machine came with 3GB of memory. The 2GB chip is the one that went bad and is being replaced. I am now running on 1GB while waiting for the replacement chip. Performance is slower but no problems. I am satisfied with the computers features and performance and wouldn't try to talk anyone out of buying it. I think my problem is probobly a fluke.

Great value at discounted price + rebate
At the discounted price of $900 as of mid-June + the $50 rebate, this laptop was a great value, and still is at $1000, though I would recommend waiting a bit for another HP discount to pop up this summer. The design and structure of the laptop and very slick and hip. This laptop was built and is marketed for entertainment, so I would recommend it for any families or students. 4GB of RAM is a nice boost to system performance, and the 250GB (219GB usable disk space after partition + OS) should be plenty for most users, but if not, fast external storage is getting pretty cheap these days. The screen is fantastic and the quad-band (?) is plenty fast. Overall, its a great machine with high performance for most entertainment applications. If you can snatch it for $900 or less, depending upon what rebates/coupons HP throws out there, it's a fantastic value.

HP DV Series
I like the shape of this laptop but the shape is not every thing, i bought 5 laptops of the same seires and all of them have the same following problems:
1- HP DV find it difficult to communicate with encrypted wireless router .. i konw it is a windows vista issue but i face this problem in HP more than Toshiba or Acer.
2- The mouse and keyboard sensitivity is very bad, for example if i want to write www.amazon.com i discoverd that i only print ww.aazo.om with a lot of letters gone.
This was the major problem in HP DV Series and the overall system is good.

Very good indeed but...
I won`t make a big review telling you all about this notebook because it`s been done already. Here`s what I think:
Pros:
- The specs help it to work real smooth, especially the 4gb RAM
- It`s stylish and has many shortcuts among the keyboard that will help you navigate through the system
- It`s very complete with webcam, DVD-WR drive, Bluetooth and Wi-fi, slick keyboard, in-built mic, 3 USB and stuff.
Cons:
- I`d like at least one more USB and located on the back of the notebook, not on the sides. It makes connecting "permanent" peripherals ugly with lots of wires appearing
- The ethernet connection is sideways as well which is not good either
- The notebook comes with Vista. Its ok, but you cannot downgrade it to XP `cause hp didn`t release many drivers to the older windows system yet. So you MUST use vista to enjoy all your new computer has to offer.
- Vista system can be lazy and slow sometimes, which is very irritating.
That`s all I think.
