Product Description: All of the Manhattan Transfer's albums are laden with nostalgia, but few work as well as a time machine as Swing. This disc collects 13 classics from the swing era, from "A-Tisket, A-Tasket" to "Skyliner." All recall the past with the immediacy of a Burma Shave sign would. The Transfer felt the desire to recruit such talents as Ray Brown, Stephane Grappelli, Asleep at the Wheel, Ricky Skaggs, and Mark O'Connor this time out. The country contributions make these swing classics add interest to these covers, making this a Transfer CD that bears repeated listenings. --Charles R. Cross

5 stars A Swinging Dream
The Transfer offers a bit of the best in in "Swing" that keeps you grinnin', tappin' and swinging all the way through. The song choices run perfect--a few old Manhattan Transfer favorites, including "Java Jive", and some new renditions like "Route 66" and a beautiful vocalese of Django's "Nuages". This disk is full of pleasant suprises. How 'bout using "Asleep at the Wheel" as a back-up band on a live cut, or believe this, a cameo by Stephan Grapelii, may he rest in peace and harmony! "Swing" is a winner, well worth the money, and sure to join your favorite "listens" when you've got a mind to move!

5 stars Best MT recording yet.
I just rediscovered MT after years of neglect -- purchasing Swing after hearing the samples on Amazon. IMHO, Swing is their best recording yet!

5 stars Swing--the real thing
This is a great nostalgic revisitation of the swing era. It's a good balance between the gospel and the fun side. This is my favorite of the Transfer's music. I got into it looking for a cover of "Sing you Sinners" and as I heard each song, I liked it more and more. Nice modernization that kept the swing concept intact.

5 stars Outstanding-Marvelous-Great
I think this is the best complete selection they have ever done. I was blown away by it. I have several of their cd's, and this is the only one where I loved every song. They are the best singing group in the last 50 years, maybe ever.

5 stars One of their best albums ever
I can't rave about this enough. Every song is great. That's NOT true of many of their albums.
