Great Album
It's kinda sad to listen to this because this was Vinnie and Dimes new venture together. This band showed so much promise with what could have been. The songs on this album are very well crafted and well thought out. You can tell by listening to this Vinnie and Dimebag didn't need Phil Anselmo to make great music. New Found Power has alot of great songs I will return to over the years to come.

I wanted to like it
As an old fan of Pantera, I desperately wanted to like this album but never could even find one song to really be a favorite. They tried too hard to be current in the newmetal trend thus making for unmemorable bland formula songs. Sad.

Holy Crap, It's a High Speed Kick in the Teeth
This is one of the finest Metal albums ever put together. Seemless smoking guitar by the late great Dimebag Darrell.

An Classic Album, In My Eyes And Heart! (pure greatness!!!)
I very well rember the year of 2004! Not for only the sadness and pain that i felt, from when i heard that dime was shot to death on stage, but more so for the fact that 04 was one of thoes great years that just had great album releses, from so many fantastic metal group's like for example: Mastodon, grave, Ancent,Immortal Souls(Witch is one far my fav. death metal groups of ALL TIME!!)Megadeth, Black Lable Society,ect... And this never to be forgotened album "NEW FOUND POWER" album by such an fantastic band altogether! Realley such an perfect name for an album in general! I rember in that year when i was 17, I'm 20 years of age now!)buying that album when it first came out, and listened to that album in it's full entiertiy, and enjoying every song on the album, and then thinking to myself.. WOW! WHAT AN FU**ING! KICK-A** CD THIS IS! And then sensing that metal music history, Was beaning born. But like Pantera, the musicanship of this band DAMAGEPLAN! IS AT IT'S EXCELLENCE!To me thats what makes an album an classic, is when everyone enjoys it, and all the songs rip from start-finish! So with all that said, and all things to consider, this is an must have for any fan, thats an fan of real metal, cause this is real metal music! And not that pussy stuff that you would hear now in this year! But Anyways! HIGHLY RECOMMENED!!!

A Great metal band....Damageplan New Found Power (Elektra)
I got this album right after its release date and immediately thought it was a great album and still is. On here Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul have turned the page on the past (Pantera/Phil),bring in a new lead singer,Pat Lachman and new bass guitarist, Bob Zilla, and a lighter/less aggressive new direction metal album than their previous efforts. The results are pure metal and has a lot songs that have hooks and are catchy. This new lead singer Pat Lachman reminds totally of Brad Divens the lead singer of a great metal band(s) Wrathchild America and Souls At Zero; in which they changed their name to in 1993. Yes, vocally Pat does different vocals ,because the music is a little different,but actually Damageplan sound pretty similar to Wrathchild America in a 2000's era sound. Bob Zilla does a fine job on bass guitar and is solid at his position. An example of this is the song Crawl etc. Musically every song on this album is awesome and flows very well. Though the only song on here that does not really do it for me is F#@& You. It just sounds like it does not belong and the title I could definitely do without....they should of come up with something more thought out than that. After saying all that it is still not a bad song though. My personal favorite songs are New Found Power,Reborn,Save Me,Cold Blooded,Crawl,Blink of an Eye,and Moment of Truth. As a whole though all songs are great like stated earlier. Dimebag Darrell's solos are less on here than previous work with his former band Pantera and to me he does awesome job for the song structures of Damageplan. The same is true with drummer Vinnie Paul. It is ashame that we mostly likely will never hear anything from Damageplan, because of the events everyone is well aware of (R.I.P. Dimebag Darrell). This is a must for metal fans to add to your collection.
