Product Description: Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts has spent most of his life feeling 'insignificant'. Bullied at school for being 'different', he realized growing up that he had one true friend and that was his voice. Singing was his escape. He was able to lose himself in his own little world - the vicious words of his tormentors replaced by hauntingly beautiful lyrics and melodies that lifted his heart and spirit. It was a love, a passion, a lifeline that would follow Paul into adulthood and help him through many more periods of adversity.
Though it's fair to say that when Paul strolled awkwardly - almost apologetically - onto the Cardiff stage for his first Britain's Got Talent audition a week before that final, in his now infamous £35 Tesco suit, and announced to Simon and fellow judges Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan that he was going to sing opera, they never thought for one minute they were looking at their winner. Until he opened his mouth and started to sing. Paul Potts Photos

Goosebumbs again!
Wow!!! A number of months ago someone emailed me the link to a YouTube video that showed Paul Potts' first appearance on "Britain's Got Talent" I was captivated as soon as he started singing, then got goosebumps and then got teary eyed. I thought to myself: "What the.....?? This is Opera, dude.....you hate opera!" Or at least I thought did...or was supposed to. No "manly man" would like Opera!! Paul Potts has changed my mind.
As I've grown older, I've embraced a broader expanse of musical genres. But until now Opera was boring. Until now. Gotta quit writing now and go put Paul Potts back on. Oh yeah, I purchased two additional Opera samplers from Amazon.

Paul Potts gets his One Chance
Paul Potts is solely responsible for bringing opera to the attention of the "every man".
From the moment he sings the first note of Nessun Dorma he has hooked us all. The every day guy with the beautiful voice.
The CD is really good.
When Potts sang on Britain's Got Talent he reached every member of the audience. They cheered, they cried, they rose and they all felt the same emotion: pure joy. The CD does not disappoint.

Engineer should be fired
Paul Potts has a great voice and with more training and practice, he could be an even better performer. I like Paul--he has potential.
Unfortunately, the engineers who are in charge of the sound on this CD put together what sounds like a compressed, flat dud of a CD. Sure, it has the clarity from the wonders of modern recording, but they managed to suck the life right out of this recording.
Instead of capturing the softness, the loudness, the intensity of the musicians and voices, where we should have a *dynamic* sounding CD, that can naturally inspire the listeners, we have one big, flat sound with a couple of pathetic *artificial* adjustments in volume. When people sing, or play instruments, they naturally go from a soft sound, to a loud sound when their inner being tells them to. We don't need some hack in the studio taking that artistry from the artists. If I wanted a flat recording, I would have gone with MP3s. If I wanted compression, I would have gone with MP3s.
It's garbage like this that's made me given up on modern music CDs. It has nothing to do with Paul Potts, but the engineers who no longer have a clue what good sound is all about, and the non-music loving executives who in many cases are making them do this.
The record companies say they're losing money. Good. They've lost major music buyers like myself, and I would be ecstatic if they went out of business. Let the music and sound lovers be in charge again.
And Paul, smile on your next CD.

What an amazing voice! Must buy for music lovers
At first I was skeptical. Then I was hesitant. Then all the other excuses came to mind why I should not buy the CD. But then logic took over and I remembered how good he sang Nessun Dorma. I decided to get the CD and I never regretted it. My wife actually took the CD for herself and we fight for who gets to keep it!
My favorite song is his version of O holy night. I am just amazed at the power, clarity and beauty of this Welshman's voice. A humble, kind man who I am waiting for more of his releases! Paul Potts is my new favorite Opera singer. Andrea Bochelli is too Nasal. Pavaroti to grandiose. Poll Potts is sublime...or as everyone puts it...a new polished diamond in the rough.
